A statement from Michael Josem of the Manx TaxPayers’ Alliance on today’s announcement that Stobart Air has been purchased by a Manx business:

“This is a great deal for Manx taxpayers, because it has not cost taxpayers a penny. This offers more local jobs, more local air connections, all at no cost to taxpayers! Great!”

“The Isle of Man Government should now consider leading these Isles in abolishing Aircraft Passenger Duty. Removing Aircraft Passenger Duty would lower the cost of air travel from the Isle of Man. It would be a boost for many Manx families wanting to re-unite after border restrictions are removed, it would be a boost for businesses which need to send staff across, and it would be a boost for the Manx tourism and hospitality industries in attracting visitors.”

Esken Limited, the company widely know as Stobart Air, announced the sale online this morning.

Michael Josem serves as a Director of the Manx TaxPayers' Alliance and a volunteer for various other community groups in the Isle of Man.
