The just-released inflation report for June 2021 shows that consumer prices are continuing to put big pressures on Manx household budgets.
“Annualised inflation remains well above 3% for the second consecutive month, and has increased from 3.5% in May to 3.7% in June. While there is some chance that this is merely a transitional spike after the lockdowns earlier this year, rising costs will lead to pressure on household budgets,” said Michael Josem of the Manx TaxPayers’ Alliance.
“At times like this, it is important that the Isle of Man Government avoids increasing the pressure on households and businesses. The best way to do this would be to avoid introducing any new COVID taxes on the taxpayers of Mann.”
